BEING MARRIED TO 2FACE IS A BLESSING SAYS ANNIE MACAULAY IDIBIA
To say that pop singer, 2face Idibia, is one of the most loved and admired men in the Nigerian entertainment industry shouldn’t be seen as an over-statement. 2baba, as he is fondly called, is loved by all and sundry. He even gets the nod from octogenarians, who also enjoy his music.
As a testament to his music prowess and adeptness in the ‘other room,’ the bald-headed singer has notched several national, continental and international awards, and also fathered seven children.
2face was such a hot cake in his heyday as a bachelor that lots of gorgeous and successful women struggled to be his African Queen. At the peak of his reign as a single man, he had three baby mamas, namely Sunmbo Ajaba, Pero Adeniyi and Annie Macaulay. At that point, many gave up speculating who would eventually succeed in becoming his bride. Some even suggested that he wasn’t going to settle for any of the baby mamas and would go for someone new and fresh.
However, like in a beautifully scripted movie, 2face won the hearts of many when he asked Annie, whom he met and was dating before the other baby mamas, to marry him. The couple got married at a destination wedding in 2013 and it was broadcast live on some Nigerian TV stations.
Rather than fade, it is apparent that the fire of their love is even burning brighter than before. 2face recently released the remix of his biggest hit song, African Queen, which was used as an original soundtrack in comedian, AY’s new movie, 10 Days in Sun City, and he dedicated it to his lovely wife. He also wrote on his Instagram page, “18 years ago, I met this beautiful human being. And four years ago, she said yes to be by my side through it all. Words cannot express how much she means to me; my true African Queen…”
In a chat with Sunday Scoop recently, Annie lit up like a million stars while describing her marriage. “I feel blessed to be married to 2face and I’m glad that we share something special. In fact, our marriage is a blessing,” she said.
On how she feels that 2face dedicated the remix of the iconic song to her, she said, “Naturally, I feel good about it and I can tell you that any woman would love such a thing. It is a beautiful thing when the person you love appreciates you…it ranks among one of the best feelings in the world.”
