MY 20 YEARS EXPERIENCE WITH YINKA AYEFELE... BUKUNMI GBOLASERE

Known by Fresh Fm fans home and abroad, Mrs Gbolasere( Iya Arodeyo) was one of the first people Yinka Ayefele employed when he started his office in a room office apartment without a standard office equipment 20 years ago. During an interview session at Music House, Iya Arodeyo speaks about her relationship with Yinka Ayefele, her upcoming 3 in 1 event and many more.

HOW DID YOU GET TO KNOW YINKA AYEFELE

Firstly I give thanks to almighty God, where I am today is not by my power but by the grace of almighty God.  I got to know my boss through our church, then in 90s we attended the same church together. Later I left for school and on getting back in the year 1997 I heard about the sad news that brother Yinka had and accident and I felt so bad. My purpose at home was to look for a  place I could do my Industrial Training. Fortunately for me I met him(Yinka Ayefele)  on the street of Liberty Stadium, he was in the car with his brother (Niyi Ayefele) and wife, then they were still dating.

He asked me where I was coming from, I narrated my ordeal, that faithful day I was coming from Galaxy Television where I went to submit my IT letter. He then offered me a job to come and do the IT program in his office. Jokingly I ignored because I knew the office is not well up to standard. I waited for a period of time searching for another place but unfortunately I didn't see any.

So I checked on him and accepted to work in his office. When I got there, the office has only table without a chair. I do pray for him back then so he could stand on his fit and walk again, even till today . He started paying me N300 per month, then in the office we normally produce Jingle for companies, churches and media houses. After then he started receiving invitations to play at parties at the rate of N7,000 later we started collecting N20,000 to 40,000. All the money I saved from my salary went missing at Savannah Bank when the Bank closed down around 90s, I was unable to return back to school for my HND due to lack of funds.

We received an invitation to play at an occasion with huge amount of money, the money was used to rent another office at Ring Road which was far better than our former office, it was a flat with many rooms for audio studio, offices and reception. My duties changed and I started working as a full secretary, things started changing financial, shows increased from N40,000 to what we are charging today.  He later asked me to purchase HND form so I could continue my education, I felt reluctant because I'm married with a kid, but he insisted that I must return to school.  So I started attending classes from Thursday till weekends and also working as his secretary from Monday to Wednesday.

One faithful day, I was serving him food, he asked a question that changed my story till today, he said Bukunmi you studied Mass Commucation? I said yes, he now instructed me to go into the studio to cast news, then we are running Intenet Radio at Music House. I thought he was joking, he later instructed me again and I decided to think about what to do.  So I was presenting program and also working as a secretary. I started with "Ilera Loro" an health program, it wasn't easy when I started but I was courageous with the help of Mr Enitan Olusegun Bamidele(EOB), EOB really helped me to become a professional broadcaster. I was running the program alone before I introduced Mr Abdukareem Abdulai who also runs an Islamic program back then.

HOW DID YOU GOT THE NAME NURSE AGBA AND IYA ARODEYO

I got the name Nurse Agba and my co-anchor Dokita Agba during an invitation we received from the Association of Private Doctors of Oyo State. We were given the names during the program the Doctors organized then. I later introduced another program named "Arodeyo".
Mr Idowu Bamidele, an international fan of Fresh FM adviced me to include event planning into my program, I told Dr. Yinka Ayefele about it and he gave me his full support to learn it. Now I am a professional Broadcaster, wedding engagement achore and a party planner and I also train people.

YOUR HAPPIEST DAY WITH YINKA AYEFELE

My happiest day was the day i heard about the news of my boss triplet. I'm still hoping and very sure that he will stand and walk soon.  Dr Yinka Ayefele is a courageous man, strong and so passionate about his job. I leant so much from him. Have been advised to leave him long time ago but since I waited, people that adviced me then are thankful to God for my life today.
