Dr. Yinka Ayefele, a cheerful giver...
I want to thank Nigerians from all over the world for the calls, prayers, and well wishes. I never knew that Ayefele has millions of supporters in such magnitude. Although, this gesture was done secretly and as a surprise. But I was surprised When I woke up on Friday morning and I saw it on BBC news, and all Major blogs and Social Media around the world. Two current Governors, two current ministers, two former Governors, and Uncle Adeshina also called to express their appreciation. This was a testament that Ayefele is loved by everyone.
I will go straight to the points. I will like to give all glory back to God, I will never take the credit for this gesture. I was just a tool that God used o facilitate the mobility equipment. I will be remiss if I fail to mention the fact that Yinka Ayefele has a taste for victory and it has consumed him with righteous purpose - he is a product of faith and a cheerful giver.
Just a quick example- after I visited Yinka Ayefele's office about 13 years ago, on my way out of his office, I saw a group of people ( obviously living with one disability or the other) in their hundreds in one section of the office compound. Then I asked, who are these people? Then Someone now told me that those are the people that Ayefele caters for on a regular basis. I was shocked. If a man that was nursing his own challenges can open his big heart to accommodate the challenges of others, that means I must be very ungrateful to God. If you want to talk about Ayefele's magnanimity where do you want to start? The picture I posted below was not a queue at the petrol station- that was a cross-section of people waiting to receive the palliative packages before COVID 19 lockdown.
On the other hand, Ayefele is also a man of faith. In one of his old albums, he said, " there is hope that I will walk one day". By the special grace of God, I also join my faith with that of Ayefele in agreement that this is just the beginning, the Lord has cast off the bad situation, Ayefele will walk by himself again. Amen.
